The latest Multitherm C controller from Winterwarm includes some new features that give added flexibility of use.
The main innovation is an external “enable/disable” link, allowing the activation of the controller via a relay. This can be used when a BMS provides a simple enable signal as the in-built thermostat then allows modulation of the heater, helping to reduce energy consumption. If the BMS is more extensive, it can operate the heaters via an interface – however, the Multitherm C can then be set to “view only” mode, providing diagnostics and a re-set facility.
Other means of activating the controller include PIRs, door switches and coin switches. The controller can also be programmed to switch between normal set temperature and frost protection rather than enable/disable, making it particularly useful for buildings with irregular or intermittent use.
A user-defined key lock has also been introduced, giving added protection against unauthorised changes to settings.
