Soleco has launched a range of MCS-approved open loop ground-source heat pumps providing heating, cooling and hot water.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, there are six models in the range, delivering a COP (coefficient of performance) from 3.95 to 4.28 (at MCS conditions).
The company says the ground-source heat pumps use free underground water (which remains at a year round temperature of 12 deg C) via a borehole and transfers it to a building’s heating system at temperatures up to 55 deg C.
All systems in the range are compatible with underfloor heating systems as well as modern and low temperature radiators. The constant temperature of underground water, combined with an efficient design, ensures that no back-up heating is normally required, Soleco states.
The system also offers an independent domestic hot water circuit, providing hot water on demand up to 65 deg C and operating at the same time as the heating circuit.
In addition, Soleco says the borehole can provide fresh drinking water using a separate filtration unit and discharged grey water can be used for a variety of activities including irrigation, washing cars or flushing toilets.
The MCS-certified range qualifies users for the Renewable Heat Premium Payment and Incentive scheme (RHPP).
