A state-of-the-art, natural ventilation solution for commercial projects delivers the best combined performance for U values and air leakage, as well as surpassing current and medium-term future regulatory requirements.
Gilberts of Blackpool’s innovative Mistrale 75 ventilator unit achieves accurate and stable airflow with air leakage as low as 5m3/hour/m2, with a U value as little as 0.93W/m2K.
“No other similar ventilator offers such low air leakage and thermal performance in one unit,” says Roy Jones, Gilberts’ senior technical manager. “Our U value is equivalent/comparable to a double-glazed window. The air leakage exceeds current and future requirements: regulations currently demand air leakage of ≤10m3/hour/m2, and are predicted to lower only to ≤7m3/hour/m2. Mistrale delivers now, and helps future-proof the building services for the medium-term, too.”
Mistrale 75 operates automatically, adjusting the flow of air as required to maintain internal air quality and temperature. It can be interfaced with proprietary or Gilberts’ own building management systems to achieve complete controllability 24/7, 365 days a year.
An air-tempering option, which can produce up to 1.1W of convected heat and maintain the internal temperature, minimises energy consumption when a separate heating system is operating and can reduce the number of radiators required. Additional options include acoustic attenuation, silencers and internal fascia grilles.
Gilberts has purpose-engineered Mistrale 75 to give a slimline but effective means of natural ventilation through windows, masonry or curtain walling. Just 200mm thick, it can be produced as standard in sizes from 200mm x 225mm up to 2,000mm x 1,050mm. It can also be used in multiples to create large screens or a continuous run. All Mistrale 75 units are Class A weather-rated, whether for 50mm or 75mm pitch external louvres.
