High-specification, oak-finish raised flooring for No.1 Cavendish Place by AET Flexible Space

AET Flexible Space, the leading manufacturer and supplier of underfloor air conditioning systems, originally supplied 1,500 sq m of high-specification Nesite raised-access flooring over four floors at No. 1 Cavendish Place in 2001, in conjunction with AET Flexible Space air conditioning equipment.

This year, the company has re-supplied the same oak-finish, factory-bonded Nesite floor panels to refurbish one floor, and the supply and delivery of panels for a second floor is under way.

A raised access floor is an essential part of an AET Flexible Space underfloor HVAC system, which uses the plenum beneath the raised floor as the ventilation duct as well as housing normal cabling and IT services. This eliminates the need for ceiling-based ductwork, making it easy and economical to adapt to services changes in the workplace. The CAM or downflow unit treats and conditions air before it enters the plenum, and then it is introduced into the space via floor-recessed fan terminal units, called Fantiles. Fantiles are easily relocated with standard 600mm x 600mm floor tiles and also feature integrated controllers, allowing users to personally adjust temperature and fan speed settings. The end result is a high-quality, adaptive indoor environment.

AET Flexible Space has supplied Nesite raised-access flooring to buildings for over 20 years as part of its Flexible Space concept, and one of the key features of Nesite flooring is the range of high-specification panel finishes that Italy-based Nesite is able to provide. No. 1 Cavendish Place is a prime example of how these finishes can be applied in a commercial environment to create a superb, high-specification interior. The crisp, clean interior finish at Cavendish Place created a modern, stylish office environment after the original refurbishment in 2001. The re-supply of the same 6mm factory-bonded, oak-finish floor panel demonstrates that the original interior specification was ideally suited to this prime London office accommodation and still remains contemporary today.

Nesite prides itself on the quality and style of its raised flooring products. It has a robust and durable substructure and a wide range of standard and bespoke panel finishes compared with other available access floor products. Standard floor coverings include laminate, vinyl, linoleum rubber and carpet, and high-class finishes can be made from wood, ceramic, marble, granite, glass and decorated steel, among others.

AET Flexible Space continues to supply Nesite raised flooring to accompany its plenum-based air conditioning systems, but will also supply the flooring independently on request. AET has more than 20 years’ experience of specifying and supplying Nesite raised floor systems. With demonstrable knowledge of working with other raised floor equipment manufacturers, AET believes that the Nesite product is of superior quality and ideally suited to stylise grade-A office accommodation.
