Atlantic Boilers of Lancashire have supplied a new heating system for the Wynnstay Hotel in Oswestry.
Seb Siddi, general manager of the hotel, decided to renovate the gas-fired heating and hot water plant that consisted of a 30-year old cast-iron heating boiler and two 15-year old direct-fired hot water generators.
Two new VF, low NOx, pre-mix low NOx gas condensing boilers – each of which has modulating output between 26kW and 100kW – were recommended by carbon consultants Envantage of Manchester.
The powerful, fast-acting, stainless steel boilers are arranged so that one provides domestic hot water and one provides space heating; either boiler can serve either heating requirement.
The two boilers give efficiency of up to 97% GCV and, with a built-in boiler management system, give a welcome flexibility to Mr Siddi in managing the energy programme of the hotel.
The installation was carried out by Evolve Services of Whaley Bridge, High Peak, Derbyshire.
