SAS extends Midlands factory

Ventilation manufacturer SAS International has completed a 40,000 sq ft extension to its Apollo Park factory in Oldbury. The extension forms part of a facility measuring 130,000 sq ft.

Apollo Park has replaced SAS International’s former factory at Kelvin Way in West Bromwich which was located over nine separate units. The new factory has unified these units under one roof with roughly twice the floor space.

Steve Horner, SAS Apollo Park factory director, said: “This is a very exciting day in the continuing development of SAS as it celebrates both our company’s continued growth and expanding product range, as well as the strength of British manufacturing.

“When we realised we needed a larger resource than we had at Kelvin Way, we felt that it was vital to our staff and the local economy that we remain in this area.”

There are currently over 100 people employed at Apollo Park. SAS also has 200,000 square foot over two factories in Bridgend, South Wales, and a 70,000 square foot factory in Maybole, Scotland.
