Roxburgh: Relations with HVCA improved

Association of Ductwork Contractors and Allied Services (ADCAS) president Paul Roxburgh says membership of FETA has helped to improve relations with professional bodies like the HVCA. ADCAS and the HVCA are gathering in October for a seminar to discuss issues relating to the ductwork industry. This is the first time ADCAS has joined with the HVCA in a public forum on the problems facing both ductwork contractors and their mechanical engineering customers. Mr Roxburgh said: “A year ago such an open discussion of mutual problems would probably not have taken place. However, since we became members of FETA, relationships with other professional bodies such as HVCA have greatly improved.” Items on the agenda will include retentions and technical such as air tightness testing as expressed in Building Regulations, which is said to be at odds with the industry standard DW144.
