Promanex buys maintenance firm

Engineering firm Promanex (Total FM & Environmental Services) has snapped up Coventry & Co, a small Yorkshire-based mechanical maintenance firm for an undisclosed sum. The acquired firm employed around 20 people, who have been absorbed into the Promanex operation.

A highlight of the deal according to Promanex is that it will inherit a number of established industrial support contracts such as the Scottish and Southern Energy account.

John Funnell, director of Promanex said: “We are confident that this acquisition will strengthen our already strong mechanical services offering and will enhance our growing business portfolio.”

From June 2008, Promanex will group its three separate trading companies under one banner in an effort to provide its customers with a wider range of specialised services.

The firm employs around 1,200 people and is involved in a wide range of engineering activities including managing heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment on sites across the UK.
