Powerminster Gleeson wins Sheffield contract

Powerminster Gleeson Services has won a four-year contract to provide emergency response services to 880 properties operated by Arches Housing in South Yorkshire.

Arches Housing specialises in providing good quality affordable housing for the black and minority ethnic (BME) sector serving 3,000 tenants across the Sheffield and Rotherham area.

The contract involves providing a responsive repairs service, including general building maintenance, roofing, plumbing, heating and electrical repairs on behalf of residents.

Sally Stead, head of housing and property services at Arches Housing, explains: “A responsive repairs service is very important to ensure the satisfaction and peace of mind of our tenants.

“Powerminster demonstrated that as a local company it had the relevant experience and understanding of working with different cultures on other contracts, which was a major factor in it being chosen.

“They also employ mainly local labour and could provide a 24/7 response service across all relevant trades. Tenant satisfaction is very important at Arches Housing and the relationship with Powerminster will help to strengthen this even further.”
