Aquatherm Sales UK has been the exclusive supplier of Aquatherm plastic piping systems for building services applications across the whole of the UK since 2001.
Ormandy managing director Paul Cooper said: “We share a philosophy about how building services packages should be put together.
“We have also worked together on a series of major off-site fabrication systems and this is becoming an ever more significant part of our businesses.
“Aquatherm pipework has been a key component of many of our most successful plant room and distribution packages.”
A total of 20 Aquatherm Sales staff will move across to Ormandy Group – taking its total workforce to 200 people.
Mr Cooper said Ormandy and Aquatherm had collaborated on a number of projects in recent years, including the Ministry of Defence Aspire scheme, and the acquisition was a logical next step.:
He said merging the companies would help them both to develop by bringing their design and product development teams closer together. Aquatherm’s existing technical sales team will remain in place to ensure continuity of client relationships.
Aquatherm provides complete plastic pipework systems from 20mm up to 250mm diameter either as standard packages or as bespoke designs for a wide range of building services applications.
It offers full in-house CAD prefabricated system design and off-site fabrication facilities from its Sussex headquarters.
The polypropylene system used by Aquatherm is increasingly specified by consultants and clients looking for alternatives to traditional materials. The system was recently endorsed as a ‘Future Product’ by Greenpeace due to its recyclable properties.
Among the products manufactured by Aquatherm GmbH in Germany and supplied by Aquatherm UK are the Fusiotherm and Climatherm pipe systems
