WSP Global has announced positive financial and operating results for the first quarter ending 28 March 2015.
Revenues and net revenues of £2198.12m and £1604.79m, up 174.6% and 132.6% respectively, were mainly as a result of business acquisitions.
On 24 March the firm announced that it had entered into an agreement with the Multiconsult Foundation.
Following this announcement, it has agreed to sell all of its shares in Multiconsult AS, representing 24.73% of the issued and outstanding shares of Multiconsult, to the Multiconsult Foundation.
On 1 April, WSP acquired SPL Consultants, a multidisciplinary consulting professional services firm based in Ontario, Canada, that provides a diverse range of specialised engineering solutions in environment, geotechnical and buildings science.
This acquisition will add 250 employees to WSP’s workforce and will position it as one of the leading environmental professional services firm in Canada.
The integration of Parsons Brinckerhoff, acquired in 2014, is also progressing as planned.
Organisational structures have been put in place across all operating business segments and WSP says it is on schedule to deliver on previously announced annual collaborations of £39.15m, of which half are expected to be realised by the end of 2015.
