Windflow installs first turbine for Orkneys

Windflow Technology has installed its first exported wind turbine on the island of Westray in the Orkney Islands.

The wind conditions are ideal for the class 1A turbine. Windflow is making the most of the UK’s current renewable energy Feed-in Tariff and is open to funding other projects with local developers using Windflow turbines, thanks to the loan agreement it recently put in place to support qualifying UK projects.

The UK has a target of renewable energy meeting 15 per cent of its energy needs by 2020. Scotland aims to provide 100 per cent renewable electricity and Northern Ireland 40per cent.
