Clayesmore School gets upgraded heating system installed in two stages
Clayesmore School in Blandford Forum, Dorset has had an upgraded heating system, completed in two stages by Total Energy Services of Sturminster Newton using five Firebird oil fired boilers.
The first installation was of three linked Firebird Enviromax 44kW boilerhouse models to provide the heating and hot water for the senior school classrooms block.
This was followed by two further 73kW Firebird Heatpac outdoor boilers for a large mixed use block for the prep-school, providing heating to 80 radiators and hot water for 20 showers, the cloakrooms, accommodation and administration offices. The boilers for the latter installation were externally sited to allow the original boiler house to be used as a plant room and work had to be carried out in the limited time available for building work and the heating and hot water installation during the summer school holiday period.
“Our installation team undertook to complete the extensive work required in just 5 weeks, a critical timing factor which other contractors were unable to match” says Total Energy Services, John Smith. “We specified Firebird boilers for their breadth of range, reliability and efficiency. We are regular users of Firebird because their comprehensive range, especially with their higher output models, means we don’t have to shop around and their external models feature heavy duty, sturdy casings which were ideally suited to this installation.”
