UK venture capitalist launches renewables arm

Albion Community Power (ACP) has been launched by UK venture capitalist Albion to raise £100m over four years.

The company will target technologies including wind, solar, hydro, biogas and biomass in schemes that qualify for subsidies such as the Feed-in-Tariff and Renewable Heat Incentive.

Tim Yeo, the Tory chairman of the Commons Energy and Climate Change Committee, is to remain the chairman of ACP.
