Yesterday saw the opening of the new 59,000 sq ft facility in Basildon, Essex that includes Pipe Center, Climate Center and fabrication service all on one site.
During an event that saw customers, key suppliers and members of the press in attendance, guided tours were provided attendees, showing all aspects of the building and the services provided.
In addition to parts ordering and collection for both Pipe and Climate Center components, the purpose-built facility also includes a design office - producing all CAD drawings - and a large fabrication area, allowing the manufacture of a wide range of risers, pipework and complete plant rooms for quick installation on-site.
Considerable attention to detail is evident throughout, most notably within the product and technical hubs.
Pipe and Climate Center managing director Andy Wighton said the £1 million investment has allowed the company to trial new ideas, many of which would be repeated in new facilities in the future.
The inclusion of the fabrication section has already received a positive reception, he said, as “many of our customers didn’t know that this existed”.
There are 21 people employed in the fabrication facility at present, with plans to recruit more in the months ahead to deal with an increasing workload.
The site was chosen for its ease of access to major motorways and close proximity to London.
Opening hours are 7.30am till 5pm and delivery vehicles are dispatched from 6am onward.
