Manufacturer organisation EEF has held its annual Future Manufacturing Awards at which Vaillant Group was recognised for its sustainable practices at its Derbyshire headquarters.
The event, held at the end of January, saw Vaillant receive the trophy for its Sustainable Manufacturing Award category.
The win was attributed to the company’s SEEDS (sustainability in environment, employees, development and products and society) programme.
Its plant has been landfill zero since 2011 and it has also significantly reduced energy and water use in the manufacturing process.
The award recognises manufacturers that have undertaken initiatives to improve sustainability, innovate new processes, and improve corporate social responsibility.
Vaillant plant director Jan Borkowski, said: “I’m especially delighted that feedback from the judges valued the team effort present in our win, noting an impressive involvement of staff at all levels into the sustainable strategy.”
