A major new Waitrose store with a footprint of 39,000 sq ft will be situated in Wichelstowe, south of Swindon.
The ground-floor will be retail, including a 60-seat café, and the latest concepts for winery, bakery and food tasting.
The mechanical services for the two storey building will be installed by Kershaw Mechanical Services, working to an intensive, eight week fit-out programme.
Beginning with the ductwork, manufactured at Kershaw’s in-house workshop in Cambridge, for the ventilation system, and the high level chilled and domestic pipework in the retail areas, subsequent works include a plant room; boiler house; and provision of gas, domestic and heating services.
Five cold-rooms and 67 refrigerated cabinets will be supplied by a chilled water system, and cold aisle retrieval systems will provide heating and cooling to the shop floor.
The new Waitrose is due to open in spring 2014.
