Special day for CIPHE members at Construction Liveries Group awards

The Construction Liveries Group awards ceremony took place on 5 February 2013.

The event included representatives from the Worshipful Companies of Horners, Lightmongers, Paviors, Plaisterers and Plumbers.

Around 80 people watched Sheriff Nigel Pullman present candidates with Apprentice, Journeyman and Master Certificates. Mr Pullman said: “Education is the central part of our mission and these awards help to celebrate success.”

Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) CEO Kevin Welman introduced the recipients for the plumbing awards.

Sharon Hallam received the Apprentice Plumber Certificate, Roger Bellamy was presented with the Master Plumber Certificate and Terry Fillary gained the Master Craftsman Certificate.

Terry Fillary is the first person to gain the Master Craftsman award, which was given in recognition of his lifetime of devotion to ornamental and conservation leadwork. Mr Fillary already holds a Master Plumber Certificate.

Terry has recently published a book on the subject and had the opportunity to personally present a copy to the Queen.
