Solar power will save Thurmaston company £100k over 25 years

Midlands Ventilation Supplies has rented out its roof space to Cheshire-based Green Energy Commercial, which has installed 200 solar panels to provide energy to the national grid, Leicester Mercury has reported.

Ken Utting, owner and manager of Midlands Ventilation Supplies, said the new 48kW solar system will save the firm about £100,000 in electricity bills over the next 25 years.

Since installing the panels, it has been producing more energy than it is using.

In addition, Mr Utting has fitted the 10,000 sq m premises with energy-saving lights.
