The UK arm of train HVAC firm Sigma Coachair has been renamed Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems (Burton) Ltd.
The move follows Knorr-Bremse Asia Pacific’s purchase of Sigma Coachair Group in September.
In addition to the rebranding, Sigma’s UK rail heating, ventilation and air-conditioning will be moved to new premises in Burton upon Trent.
The Burton site will become Knorr-Bremse’s rail HVAC supply and servicing centre for the UK and Ireland, offering the group’s Merak-branded products and supporting the installed base of Sigma Coachair products.
HVAC specialists from Knorr-Bremse’s Techtrain business will relocate to Burton from Sheffield as part of the move.
The Australian Sigma Coachair Group employs 200 people around the world is involved in the development, manufacture and support of the Air International and Sigma HV systems. Its core business is rail vehicles but the company’s portfolio also covers industrial applications.
