SES win £25m landmark scheme

Shepherd Engineering Services has announced it has secured a prestigious contract win to work on a £25m landmark scheme at Edinburgh’s Haymarket station.

On this latest contract SES will work on the project alongside main contractor Morgan Sindall, on behalf of Network Rail and Scot Rail which will see a major transformation of the existing station to create a fully integrated transport hub for the city, linking train, tram, bus and taxi services.

SES’s role will be challenging, particularly as the project combines refurbishment of the original Listed building and an extension to create a new concourse and platform improvements, whilst ensuring that the station remains fully operational with disruption to passengers kept to a minimum.

It is anticipated that the project will be complete by 2014.
