A contract to supply modularised building services to a major new shopping centre in the south of England has been won by Pipe Center’s Modular Engineering.
The £2 million deal will see the company design, build and supply building services modules containing the project’s entire M&E requirements.
Modular Engineering estimates that its modular offsite assembly solution will reduce the time taken to complete buildings services for the project by up to 30 per cent compared with traditional onsite installation methods, and reduce cost by 10 per cent.
The modules will include heating, chilled water, domestic water, harvest water, cat 5 water, plus electrical containment consisting of LV power, lighting, data, communications, BMS and fire alarm.
The units are being designed and assembled at Modular Engineering’s 30,000 sq ft facility in Worcester.
They will then be factory-tested before being transported to site for final installation.
When complete, the new project will include a total of 306 shops and 46 restaurants.
Piper Center Modular Engineering is part of the Wolseley group.
