New renewables training centre for NI heating installers

Heating installers will be able to focus on renewable technologies at a new training centre in Portadown in County Armagh.

The Portadown training centre, located at the Kingspan site at Gilford Road, a joint venture between Plumb Center, Kingspan and Sevenoaks Energy Academy, opens at the beginning of May.

The academy is designed to teach practical skills linked to energy saving technologies.

The Portadown centre was recently inspected and accredited by BPEC to run courses, delivered by training partner Sevenoaks Energy Academy, on subjects including solar thermal, ground source and air source heat pumps, vented and unvented hot water storage systems, and environmental technologies.
