New guidance for contractors’ training on GWP Refrigerants

The Air conditioning and Refrigeration European Association (AREA) has updated its guidance on the minimum requirements for contractors’ training and certification on low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants.

It includes an annex that lists training facilities in AREA countries, and provides website addresses and information on the type of training (theoretical and/or practical) by type of refrigerant.

The new F-Gas Regulations, which come into force in 2015, require that EU member states ensure the availability of training for persons wishing to update their knowledge – notably on technologies to replace or reduce the use of fluorinated greenhouse gases.

The revised guidance document is available on AREA’s website.
