New college facilities drive

The government has announced that 22 colleges will invest over £194m in building new facilities.

The projects will be funded by £113.8m of government grants and £80.5m of funding from the colleges.

The grants are from the Department for Business,Innnovation and Skills’ College Capital Investment Fund.

The facilities include several for training people to work in construction. New College Nottingham will spend £27m on the region’s largest construction training centre and York College will spend £6m on a new construction centre.
