MITIE, the outsourcing and energy services company, has launched a new £240million business called Built Environment.
The business was formed by bringing together MITIE’s interior fit-out and engineering services businesses.
Built Environment will provide clients with a complete end-to-end integrated fit-out offering, including consultancy, accountable project management, installation and energy services. Built Environment can also manage your building after the project has been completed.
MITIE claims that because it is accountable for every aspect of fit-out and on-going operations, it can ensure that every part of the property is managed in the most cost-effective and environmentally sustainable way.
This allows clients to benefit from operational certainty of service and guaranteed cost savings – which at a time of austerity are particularly important.
Making buildings work more efficiently and reducing their carbon footprint is core to this new offer, and Built Environment provides advice and accountability around the customer’s need to comply with energy legislation.
Danny Leonard, Managing Director of Built Environment said: “By providing a completely integrated offering MITIE will be able to offer its clients guaranteed cost savings and the operational accountability of having to deal with only one company.
At a time when estates managers are looking to save money, while at the same time comply with an array of new carbon legislation, this kind of full service approach is exactly what the market is looking for.”
MITIE will continue to offer standalone interior fit out and mechanical and electrical engineering services.
