Manufacturer in expansion drive

Two manufacturers have announced the creation of 40 new jobs over the next year due to significant expansions.

Heights, the printing press maker, and electric radiator firm Heat Electric are boosting their facilities in Wainstalls, Halifax.

Heat Electric - which was spun out of Heights four years ago - makes water-filled radiators at its factory in the village as an alternative to gas central heating systems. They supply social housing projects, developers and local authorities for schools, colleges and libraries.

The firm moved to its own 1,394 sq m building on the same site last month after it spent £200,000 on refurbishing an older building.

The firm has a turnover of £1.1 million and employs 13 people, and has grown 20 per cent year-on-year.

However, it believes that the new move will bring 40 per cent growth in sales this year and will enable the company to hit turnover of £1.6m.
