Keepmoat among Shropshire Council £150m solar winners

Shropshire Council has named Keepmoat, Styles & Wood and J Tomlinson as winning contractors under its £150m solar framework.

Shropshire Council has named the three for the supply and installation of solar pv to its estate of up to 400 commercial and up to 3,000 domestic buildings that may be suitable for the installation of the panels.

The procurement process for the framework is believed to have seen more than 100 expressions of interest, with just eight successful in going forward to the tender process.

The local authority’s cabinet approved plans to install up to 30 solar pv installations on council buildings earlier this month.

However the initial OJEU notice states: “The project is subject to the FIT payments continuing at favourable rates, the Contracting Authority’s return on investment remaining attractive and the Local Distribution Network Operator accepting the proposed scheme.”

The framework will be for an initial period of two years from the award of contract, extendable for up to a further two year period and is divided into three lots: North; Central and South.
