An appeal for judges for the H&V News Awards has been launched following the successful upgrading of the adjudication process for the event, held last April.
Applications from building services engineers working in all sectors of the industry will be welcomed and should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org in the first instance.
Judges for the 2014 event will be requested to complete initial online judging of applicants, followed by attendance at a day of judging final applicants during the first week of March at the H&V News offices in London.
While many of this year’s judges have signed up again and the new process has won considerable acclaim, the awards team is aiming to recruit 10 new people before the end of this month.
The 2013 H&V News Awards involved a total of nearly 60 judges, who were divided into dedicated teams to focus on individual categories.
Each team then interviewed the finalists within its category during an intensive week of judging, held at Telephone House in London, to identify the winners of the 17 judged awards.
Judges from leading companies such as NG Bailey, Norland Managed Services, Skanska and GSH attended judging days last March, joined by representatives from leading industry organisations including B&ES, HHIC and FETA.
Combined with updated categories including Time-proven M&E Installation, Energy Efficient Installer and Retrofit Project, the added integrity of the judging process was another major factor in the comprehensive enthusiastic response to the 2013 event.
Next year will also see the industry’s favourite night of celebration, long established as ‘the industry’s Oscars’, celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Plans are currently being finalised to ensure that the 2014 H&V News Awards, which attract 1,000 people to London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, provide a suitable evening of celebration to mark the completion of its second decade.
