Industrial Design achieves Cisco certification

Oxford-based fire and gas detection systems specialist Industrial Design has achieved Cisco certification.

The certification allows it to service large networked sites from March 2012 as part of its agreement with Cisco UK.

CISCO networking is used on large sites where fire and gas detection systems need to be connected together.

And the new certification allows the company to access the resources and support necessary to work on such complex projects.

On sites spanning more than three or four kilometres, where control panels need to be connected together and proprietary systems are not capable or suited to the infrastructure, Industrial Design will be accessing further resources such as ethernet on copper or fibre optic cable on Cisco equipment.

“Acquiring CISCO Select Partner certification guarantees the quality and reliability of the network design and components we use in our detection systems,” explained Mike Fikuart, managing director of Industrial Design.
