Imtech chief executive retires

Imtech chief executive René van der Bruggen has decided to retire “in line with the original plan”, handing over to Gerard van der Aast.

Mr van de Aast, who is 10 years Mr van der Bruggen’s junior, is already a member of the board of management. The change will take place from 3 April.

Rudy van der Meer, chairman of the supervisory board of Royal Imtech, said: ‘We have the greatest respect for everything René van der Bruggen has achieved during the past 20 years.

“Based on his vision and on a unique combination of three strong technological competencies – electrical services, ICT and mechanical services – René has put Imtech on the map. For this we owe him a considerable debt of gratitude.”

The supervisory board said it wished Mr van Aast “every success in this difficult and challenging time for Imtech”.
