IIR conference announces new student award

The organising committee of the 3rd IIR International Conference on Sustainability and the Cold Chain has announced the introduction of an award for the best paper by a student author at the 2014 event.

The prize will be awarded for each of the conference themes and the winner will receive a £200 cheque.

Judith Evans, chairman of the conference organising committee explains why the award has been introduced: “There are many fantastic young students involved in our industry and we hope this award will encourage them to participate in this major international conference. It is a great opportunity to showcase their research and start developing a network of international contacts”.

The Award is open students, undergraduate or post graduate, who are registered with an educational centre on the 1 March 2014. Full details of the award and how to submit an abstract can be found at The deadline for student abstracts is 1 December 2013.
