H&V News April digital issue out now

Snowfall that caused disruption across the UK last month raises important questions for industry around heating system efficiency and maintenance, as well as an ongoing reliance on external condensate piping

April’s H&V News turns its attention to the recent cold, or as it is more dramatically known – the ‘Beast from the East’.

The latest issue considers a number of issues raised as a result of the snowfall that saw disruption across the UK, including arguments that temporary gas supply warnings raised at the time should spur industry to improve the efficiency of heating systems.

The adverse weather conditions have also led to a debate on the issue of how boilers are maintained outside of peak periods of use.  This has included calls for a rethink of regulations around the use of external condensate draining pipes that were attributed to a number of system failures last month.

Another key focus of the magazine this month is an anticipated expansion of mandatory registration within the construction industry as a result of the Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety that is set to close shortly.

A digital edition of the latest issue can be read here.
