Itron, in partnership with MWA Technology, are providing their CF Echo ll ultrasonic heat meters to Altecnic, to be included in their advanced heat interface units (HIU).
The latest project to utilise this technology is Elizabeth House in Wembley, a 12-storey development consisting of 115 flats.
Each flat has their own HIU linked to a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) energy centre, allowing for accurate billing and the efficiency of the building to be measured in real time.
The products come as a package, with the CF echo II already installed in the HIU under an insulated, lockable cover with an integral meter viewing window for the tenant.
Once installed, the HIU controls the heating and the production of DHW in each flat.
The compact CF Echo ll meters are MID class 2 approved and use ultrasonic measurement technology for reliability and accuracy over the lifetime of an installation, the company says.
A variety of communication options via RF, GPRS and M-BUS allow easy integration into a building management system through the use of a data logger.
