HE Simm wins £13m-worth of contracts

HE Simm has won four new contracts for its student accommodation division.

The company has secured the significant contracts to deliver full MEP services on schemes in London, Leeds, Liverpool and Oxford.

The contracts are worth more than £13m to HE Simm, which also works across the commercial, leisure, retail and healthcare sectors.

In London, HE Simm will deliver the MEP works for Downing Construction at Portal Way, North Acton. The accommodation encompasses 80,000sq ft and 184 studio rooms.

HE Simm will deliver mechanical, electrical and public health services including ventilation, fan coil units, drainage, power, lighting, security and fire systems. Works begin in October 2012.

Ocon Construction has appointed HE Simm as MEP contractor on a landmark student accommodation development at Crown Place, University Of Liverpool.

The scheme, the second phase which HE Simm has worked on, will provide 1259 student bedrooms with a high specification over three blocks.

The HE Simm works will incorporate a number of environmentally friendly and low/zero-carbon technologies, and is set for completion in July 2014.

Pochin Construction has appointed HE Simm to undertake the MEP works involved in the re-modelling of the Leodis 3 student accommodation in Leeds.

Work is already under way to deliver the completed 311-room scheme by August 2013. This includes the refurbishment and renewing of mechanical, electrical and public health services including drainage, power, and lighting.

HE Simm has also been chosen by Multibuild to deliver the MEP specification on a 112-bedroom student accommodation scheme at Cowley Road, Oxford.

The company will deliver the mechanical, electrical and public health services, including ventilation, drainage, power, lighting, security and fire systems. Work will begin in September 2012.

HE Simmn managing director Gareth Simm said the contracts confirm HE Simm’s position as one of the UK’s leading engineering services providers.

He said: “Our commitment to deliver on time, on budget and beyond expectation means we have built very successful partnerships with major national contractors and developers across the UK.”
