Glenigan to develop pipeline tender for DCLG

Construction intelligence providers Glenigan has won a competitive tender to supply planning application and development pipeline data to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).

Glenigan will collate and analyse private/domestic and commercial applications data from 350 planning authorities across England after being awarded the contract, which commenced on 1 August 2014.

The data will be used by DCLG to understand the range of applications and timing of the development stages, and will be key in assessing the impact of planning reforms.

The Cabinet Office will also use the data to monitor development and the Homes and Communities Agency will use it for both policy and in operational delivery.

Glenigan was chosen to work with DCLG following a formal tender process that assessed the quality of its planning data and robust research procedures.

Glenigan content director Robert Davis said: “We’re delighted that the comprehensiveness and accuracy of our data has been recognised through a rigorous comparison process.

“Glenigan information is purchased by many government departments and agencies, supporting their crucial work in enabling the resurgence of the housing and construction industries.”
