Glasgow council launches £130m construction framework

Glasgow council has invited tenders for a construction framework worth up to £130m for contractor and subcontractor work to be completed by 2014.

The framework is set to last until January 2014 subject to a possible 24 month extension and is expected to be worth £25m to £130m. Work is divided into 46 lots, 27 of which have already been advertised.

Requested work includes masonry, roofing, electrical installations, ventilation and heating, glazing, painting and decorating, flooring and decking, asbestos removal, lift installation landscaping, drainage and environmental works.

The framework will be operated by City Building, a wholly owned subsidiary of Glasgow City Council that provides a wide range of construction and trade operations across the public and quasi public sectors.
