Gas fitter charged with manslaughter

An installer has been charged with manslaughter after a multi-millionaire’s daughter was found dead at her family home in Bath, police have said.

On December 28, 2010, Zoe Anderson was discovered in the shower at her home in the city’s exclusive Lansdown road.

Miss Anderson, 24, is the daughter of magazine tycoon Chris Anderson.

It was first believed that neuroscience graduate Miss Anderson had fallen and hit her head but it was later discovered that she had suffered carbon monoxide poisoning.

Andrew Hartley, 36, of Bath New Road, Radstock, Somerset, has been charged with manslaughter and two charges of contravening gas safety regulations relating to a gas boiler he fitted in the building in the house in Sion Hill, one of Bath’s most exclusive roads.

Avon and Somerset Police said Hartley was due to appear before magistrates in Bath on June 24. He was originally arrested and questioned in January before being released on police bail.
