Benchmark Certification, the new provider of CORGI Memberships, has launched a new scheme to allow members to self certify for free as part of their revised competent persons schemes
The move is claimed to be the first of its kind as other schemes charge up to £2 for self-certified work notification
John Martin, managing director, said: “We have listened to the feedback from contractors and have developed the new scheme and website with them in mind.
“Contractors want support, recognition and service, but overall it’s the order books which count, hopefully our new schemes will give contractors all of this and more.”
The CORGI and Benchmark CPS claims to be the only scheme to offer free work notification for its members, saving them up to £395 a year.
“Everyone knows you have to self certify your work under the competent persons scheme, but why should you have to pay more for this?” asked Chris Kulski operations manager.
The company has also launched a new website, www.corgi-membership.com. which aims to help consumers choose a competent contractor and deliver free work leads to members.
It is also providing van livery and ID cards and legal and technical help lines to further support their member businesses.
