FMB to fund skills training

The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) has secured funding from the Employer Ownership of Skills initiative (E-OS) to fund skills training that will create jobs, raise skills and drive enterprise and economic growth. 

CoRE has been appointed by the FMB to deliver Technical Skills training on an exclusive basis.  This means that specific courses offered by CoRE will be subsidised at a reduced rate.

The following courses have been approved by E-OS & the FMB as eligible units:

Introduction to Retrofit

Fundamentals of Solid Wall Insulation

Whole House Retrofit

Retrofit Building Physics

Assessing Dwellings for Retrofit

Building Fabric Retrofit

Ventilation for Retrofit

Low Carbon Technologies for Retrofit

Sustainable Retrofit: materials, product, water and waste

Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management

Responsible Retrofit for Traditional Buildings

Only businesses and employers based in England are eligible.

The courses will take place at the CoRE building in Stoke-on-Trent and in London, Milton Keynes and Leeds.  This will be confirmed in the coming weeks.  However, the course locations in May & June have been finalised:

14th May: Ventilation for Retrofit will take place at the CoRE building in Stoke-on-Trent
5th June: Building Services Retrofit will take place at the FMB offices in London
12th June: Whole House Retrofit will take place at the CoRE Building in Stoke-on-Trent


Delegates attending E-OS subsidised courses will receive 6hrs CPD accreditation.
