Communities minister Andrew Stunnell has announced details of the first four contracts signed by the Homes and Communities Agency and providers under the 2011-15 Affordable Homes Programme.
Speaking at the National Housing Federation conference on Monday afternoon, Mr Stunnell revealed Orwell housing association, Town and Country, Westfield and Worthing Homes were the first to sign with the HCA.
Orwell received £13,952,500 in allocations for 770 units in the East and South-east.
Town and Country was allocated £22,386,142 in total, with £20,225,031 for 1,152 East and South-east properties and £2,161,112 for 128 units in London.
Westfield and Worthing Homes are to build 20 and 101 units respectively but neither received any allocation.
