The Department of Energy and Climate Change has announced the appointment of Peter Boyd as expert chair of the Energy Efficiency Deployment Office (EEDO).

His role is to provide strategic guidance to ministers, the DECC management board and officials on the government’s energy efficiency objectives.

Mr Boyd is also is also tasked with strengthening connections with stakeholders and communicate and promote the work of EEDO.

He was previously employed by the Virgin Group and is currently the chief operating officer for Carbon War Room, an independent global, non-profit organisation that seeks to accelerate entrepreneurial solutions to profitable, ‘gigaton-scale’ reductions in carbon emissions.
