Sentinel Performance Solutions has been bought for £43 million by Electra Partners in an equity only deal.
The Runcorn-based firm supplies a range of treatment products for use in residential heating and hot water systems, and its biodegradable products protect against lime scale and corrosion and remove sludge and flux, improving performance and energy efficiency and increasing lifespan.
Formerly part of GE, Sentinel was bought out by private equity firm The Riverside Company in 2005, and has established itself as a market-leading brand in the UK and across Europe, with a strong track record in new product development.
Sentinel’s products are backed by the Carbon Trust, demonstrating the company’s commitment to cutting Co2 emissions, and can yield annual savings on household heating bills.
The transaction was funded by Electra Private Equity PLC, and David Symondson, deputy managing partner of Electra Partners, said: “We are delighted with this acquisition. Sentinel ticks all the right boxes: a well established brand with strong market position, good cash generation and potential for growth, run by an enthusiastic and highly successful management team.”
