Dog rescue centre has green pedigree

A cutting-edge £5.25 million redevelopment of the Dogs Trust Shrewsbury has been opened.

Designed to be carbon neutral under BREEAM Outstanding levels, the building has been rated A+ for energy efficiency under the UK Building Regulations.

It was completed by building and civil engineering contractors McPhillips (Wellington) of Telford. The building’s heating and energy systems will save an estimated 14.25 tonnes of CO2 a year.
