Diamond jubilee contribution from master craftsman

A liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Plumbers has completed an ornate lead trough and planter as a special gift from WCP, which will be presented to the Queen to mark her Diamond Jubilee year.

Terry Fillary, an active CIPHE member for 48 years, is a specialist in ornate leadwork and has worked on many prestigious restoration projects including the Tower of London, Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace.

He has recently finished writing a book on ornate leadwork which contains nearly a 1,000 images of his work.

Kevin Wellman, CIPHE CEO said: “Terry possesses an infectious enthusiasm which has inspired many people over the years and hisexceptional ability is unquestionable.

“His passion for the ancient craft of leadwork has resulted in unique displays of ingenuity that will be enjoyed for decades to come. There is no doubt that Terry epitomizes the ultimate Master Craftsman and is especially proud to be a plumber.”
