More criticism has emerged of the Big Six energy companies, in addition to the comments published by Which? earlier this week.
Speaking on behalf of BEAMA’s Ask for Underfloor campaign, which includes a growing number of companies, director Colin Timmins said: “Consumers have been at the mercy of fluctuating energy prices for too long and it’s time for them to take back control of their bills.
“Switching tariffs can offer a short-term solution, but for a more sustainable, long-term solution, we need to educate homeowners on the benefits of improving their heating systems and the government needs to do more to ensure more efficient heating sources are installed into new builds.”
He the benefits and efficiency of underfloor heating made it a “great first step” for those looking for a low-temperature, low-carbon heating system.
“While we all want energy companies to offer more competitive deals to their customers, as a country we need to look at ways to be greener,” said Mr Timmins.
“There are smarter ways to heat our homes and we need to drive the market forward for more efficient heating sources that don’t compromise on comfort.”
