Conference makes BIM Crystal Clear

Amtech’s Crystal Clear BIM conference took place on June 17 & 18, bringing together a wide range of speakers from government and industry, aiming to present a no-nonsense real-world view of BIM.

Delegates included representatives from leading companies such as, ABB, Arup, Siemens, Atkins, PHS, Cundall, Edmunson Electrical, NG Bailey and Balfour Beatty.

Speakers included British Institute of Facilities Management Chairman Ismena Clout who discussed the value of BIM for Facilities and Asset Management and how it can be used to make the operation and maintenance of buildings more efficient.

Amtech’s BIM Director - Applied BIM Technologies, Alexandra Grounds, an expert in geospatial BIM, also discussed how BIM methods can be applied to existing buildings to provide huge benefits to building operators and facilities managers, providing access to all the information you need, when you need it.

“The conference far exceeded our expectations” said Amtech’s CEO Mark Tindall. He added: “I would like to thank all the speakers who provided extremely high quality and interesting presentations. There was a real buzz throughout the two days which was reflected in the many positive comments and compliments we received from delegates. We will definitely be presenting another conference next year and look forward to it being an even greater success. We are also planning other, more in depth events in the near future, having received offers of support from a number of international BIM experts”.

The conference was produced in association with Siemens and was held in the Crystal – a sustainable building situated in London’s Green Enterprise District.
