Carl Burrows Trust named as awards’ charity partner

The Carl Burrows Trust will be the charity partner for the H&V News Awards 2014.

Carl Burrows was well-known in the building services sector as an enthusiastic fundraiser for charity and a regular attendee at the H&V News Awards.

Nicky Burrows, who founded the CBT in 2011 with her daughters, said she was “delighted” it had been chosen as the H&V News Awards’ charity.

“We set up the trust in October 2011 specifically to assist young people into the plumbing and heating industry and we could not wish for a better partner to help us achieve our goal,” she said.

It is hoped that more funds will be raised to assist the trust in providing additional support for young people entering the building services sector.

The next CBT event is its annual ball on 26 October at the Selsdon Park Hotel in Croydon.

CBT representatives will also be present at the H&V News Awards on 24 April 2014, which will again take place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

They will accept donations on the night to entitle attendees to take part in post-awards entertainment. Further details will be announced before the event.

The H&V News Awards will be celebrating its 20th anniversary next year.

Having received enthusiastic response to an appeal for judges, the panel is now almost complete.

However, we have space for three more judges. If you are interested, please send an email to dennis.flower@emap.com.

The 2014 event will open for entries on 18 September.
