Carillion sells Permarock Products

Carillion has sold part of its energy business for an undisclosed sum.

The contractor has sold Permarock Products to Skelmersdale-based Sustainable Building Solutions.

Permarock was part of Eaga, which Carillion bought in April last year and rebranded Carillion Energy Services.

Based in Loughborough, Permarock designs, manufactuires and supplies external wall insulation and exterior render systems, and employs around 35 people.

The deal was completed on 31 August.

A Carillion spokesman confirmed the sale and said it was ‘a niche business within Eaga and not core to the Carillion business.’

Carillion has shed 1,400 jobs in CES after the government’s decision to cut the FiT tariff.
