The Building & Engineering Services Association (B&ES) has announced it will host a roundtable discussion at its offices on the subject of retentions, in support of the H&V News Time for Change campaign.
The B&ES was one of the first supporters of the campaign when it was launched last November.
Time for Change aims to raise awareness of a number of long-running issues within the building services sector and wider construction industry.
Following discussions with industry contacts, it was agreed that the initial focus of the campaign would be an online petition to drive debate on placing retention funds within construction contracts into trust accounts.
It is continuing to gain support from all areas of the industry, including a growing number of industry associations.
H&V News editor Dennis Flower will attend the roundtable discussion and will report on the event in a future issue of the magazine. The event will be chaired by Lord O’Neill of Clackmannan, and other attendees will include Debbie Abrahams MP.
Time for Change was conceived as an industry-wide initiative and aims to include all sectors of the industry to drive improvement and deliver benefits for the entire supply chain in the future.
